Man Gets 5 Years in Jail for Robbing Stamford Card Player
The victim was robbed as he returned home with $5,000 winnings in a poker game.

A man has been sentenced to five years in jail after he pleaded guilty to robbing $5,000 from a Stamford man who won the money in a poker game two years ago.
After Cecil Hunte, 27, of Laurelton, NY, was arrested on the robbery charge, he reportedly skipped bail and headed to California. On Thursday, Hunte pleaded guilty to armed robbery and failure to appear in court for the jumping bail and was sentenced to five years, followed by five years parole, according to The Advocate.
The victim was robbed and pistol-whipped Sept. 24, 2013, after he left a card game at an East Side home.
