In Memoriam: Albino V. LaValle

The Stamford resident passed away Dec. 22 at the age of 81.

Albino V. LaValle, 81, loving husband, father and grandfather passed away peacefully with his family by his side at home in Stamford, on December 22, 2015.

Albino is survived by his loving wife Ilda of 55 years; his children Amy LaValle, Ferdinando LaValle and his wife Tricia, and his three devoted grandchildren Jessica Holding, Carly Holding and Alexander LaValle. He is also survived by his brothers Dino Mandarino, Mario Mandarino and Vincenzo Mandarino.

Born January 18, 1934 in San Vincenzo La Costa, Italy to Erminia Marchese and Ferdinando LaValle, Albino came to the United States, the country he loved and was proud to be a citizen of, in 1959. He worked as a master tailor at Minute Men Cleaners from1964 until he retired in October 2015. He enjoyed his work immensely and cared deeply for all of his friends at Minute Men.

Albino was an avid soccer fan and spent many hours watching his favorite team—Juventus of Italy. His passion for soccer was only surpassed by his deep devotion, dedication and love for his family. His quiet manner and insightful advice will be missed by his family and friends.

Calling hours at the Lacerenza Funeral Home, 8 Schuyler Ave., Stamford, will be on December 27, from 2 to 6 p.m., family and friends are welcome. A mass will be celebrated on December 28, 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, 37 Schuyler Ave., Stamford. Albino will be laid to rest at St John’s Catholic Cemetery, 25 Camp Ave., Darien.
