In Memoriam: Antonino 'Antonio' Bivon
The Stamford resident passed away Nov. 30 at the age of 90.

Antonino “Antonio” Bivona, age 90, of Stamford, the beloved husband of Carmela Brunetto Bivona, passed away peacefully at Yale New Haven Hospital on Monday, November 30, 2015.
He was born on January 4, 1925 in Adrano, Sicily, Italy. He was the eldest son of the late Pietro and Giuseppa {Pignataro} Bivona.

Wanting a better life, Antonio brought his family to America in 1969. He was employed by the Town of Darien for over twenty years.
In addition to his loving wife of 51 years, Antonio is survived by his son, Pete and his wife Maria of Trumbull, his son Sal and his wife Courtney also of Trumbull, his son Angelo and his wife Kathy of Stamford and his daughter Josephine and her husband David Gaudiano also of Stamford, his grandchildren, who he believed were “Little Angels sent from God”, Michael and Alyssa Gaudiano, Anthony, Nico, Julia, Brandon and Luca Bivona and Brittany Rice. His brother Alfio of Belgium, his sister Carmela of Sicily, Italy, his devoted nephew Pietro and his wife Maria and their children, Salvatore and Cristina Bivona of Queens, NY and several other nieces, nephews, sister-in-law’s and brother-in-law’s.

He was predeceased by his grandson, Christian Bivona, his brothers, Salvatore and Luigi, and his sister Concetta.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Church, 37 Schuyler Ave., Stamford on Saturday, December 5, at 9:30 am. Interment will follow in the Spring Grove Cemetery, 41 Hecker Ave., Darien. Friends and family may call on Friday, December 4, from 4 to 8 pm at the Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home, 2900 Summer St., Stamford.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association , 225 N. Michigan Avenue, Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601-7633.
