In Memoriam: Constance H. DeAngelis

The lifelong Stamford resident passed away Nov. 5 at the age of 82.

Constance Helene DeAngelis, 82, a lifelong resident of Stamford passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 5, 2015 surrounded by her family.

Connie was born in Stamford on March 11, 1933 to the late James and Theresa Frasca Schiavo.

Connie was a graduate of Sacred Heart Academy, class of 1951. After briefly working as a legal secretary, she married the love of her life and discovered her greatest joy, that of being a wife, homemaker and raising her four children and beloved pets. Connie had a great talent for all things creative including cooking, baking, music and writing.

Connie is survived by her son Nicholas J. DeAngelis and his wife Mary of Suwanee, GA, her daughters; Carol Gill and her husband Scott of Stamford, Jamie C. Pinto and her husband Robert M. Jr. of Trumbull and Ruth D. Ridgeway and her husband Brian of Fairfield as well as her six grandchildren; Andrew M. Pinto, Patrick M. Gill, Connor R. Pinto, Christopher J. DeAngelis, Julia L. Ridgeway and Kacey E. Gill. Two nieces Debbie Keeling and Lynne Riley, her sister-in-law Dolores Schiavo and many cousins also survive.

Besides her parents, Connie is predeceased by her loving husband Anthony “Tony” DeAngelis as well as her brother James M. Schiavo.

A funeral procession will leave the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, on Monday November 9, at 9:15AM and proceed to St. Cecilia’s RC Church, 1184 Newfield Ave., Stamford, for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10 AM. Entombment will follow at St. John’s RC Cemetery Mausoleum, Darien. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday, November 8, from 1 to 4 PM.
