In Memoriam: Frank Viggiani

The Stamford resident passed away Dec. 18 at the age of 82.

Frank Viggiani, 82, also known as “Uncle Frank” of Stamford, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Friday, December 18, 2015.

He was born in Yonkers, NY on March 14, 1933 to the late Dominick and Carmella DiTrinco Viggiani.

Frank was a bricklayer for most of his life with the Local #1 of New York. He was also employed at Pantry Pride, SylMay’s and Cove Variety until his retirement. Frank was a philosopher of life with great knowledge of many cultures and religions. He was a loyal fan of the Yankees and Phillies.

Frank is survived by his loving twin sisters, Madeline Boccuzzi of Stamford and Laura Mucilli of FL, his loving niece Sandra B. Progano and her husband Rocky of Stamford and his loving nephew George Boccuzzi and his wife Susanne of Stamford. Also surviving are his four great nephews, Rocky Progano, II and his wife Ashley, Christopher and Mark Progano and Daniel Boccuzzi, two grand nieces, Avellina and Elianna Progano, his goddaughter Camille Cavaluzzi and her husband Nicholas, a cousin Philomena Mallozzi and her family, including close friends Russell and Georgette Bateman and John Martin.

Besides his parents, Frank was predeceased by his wife Nancy Martin Viggiani and two brother in laws John Boccuzzi and Dino Mucilli.

Family and friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Ave., Stamford on Tuesday, December 22, from 9:45-10:45 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11 AM St. Benedict’s RC Church, 1 St. Benedict Circle, Stamford. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery, Rockrimmon Road, Stamford.
