James ‘Jim’ Donato, 62, of Stamford, passed away after a battle with cancer on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at Yale New Haven Hospital.
He was born in the Bronx on May 4, 1953.

Jim played on the Dart and Pool Leagues at Fiddler’s Green in Stamford. He was an avid fan of the Yankees and enjoyed photography and playing his guitar.
He is survived by his devoted friend and fiancé, Jane M. Surmaczewicz of Stamford, his best friend, Peter Fritz of Ridgefield, CT as well as a host of many friends from the Fiddler’s Green.

Family and friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Ave., Stamford to celebrate the life of their friend Jim, on Friday, November 13, from 2 to 4 PM. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations in Jim’s memory to the Smilow Cancer Hospital at Yale-New Haven, 20 York Street, New Haven, CT 06510.
