After many years with Xerox Corporation, Ernie was self-employed until his retirement in the early 1990s. After retirement, he and Mary travelled with dear friends around the U.S. and world. A political buff, he was always up for a vigorous debate, but rest assured, he was as good a listener as a talker.

For those having the good fortune of having met him, you knew immediately that you liked him. His always positive outlook, disarming wit and compassion for all are what defined him best. He will be truly missed by all who knew him.

Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4-7 PM with a service in the funeral home at 7PM at the Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home, 2900 Summer St Stamford, CT. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

Donations in Ernie’s memory may be made to the National Kidney Foundation.
