In Memoriam: Margaret 'Maggie' Grecco
The lifelong Stamford resident passed away Jan. 2 at the age of 97.

Margaret ‘Maggie’ Grecco passed away on January 2, 2016 at the age of 97 at her place of residence.
She was born on December 6th 1918 in Stamford, the daughter of the late Raffaele Cosentino and Elisabetta (LaScala) Cosentino.

She is predeceased by her husband Daniel, her daughter Lucille Bardelli, son Gerard Grecco, Sr., two sisters Catherine Greco & Antoinette Crescio and four brothers Ralph, John, Frank, and Victor Cosentino.
She is survived by her son-in-law Charles Bardelli Sr. and wife Janet of Stamford, daughter-in-law Jennifer Grecco of Trumbull, and her grandchildren Lisa Urbano and husband Joseph of Stamford, Charlie Bardelli, Jr. and Anthony Bardelli both of Derby, Joseph Bardelli of Stamford, Gerard Grecco Jr., his mother Jean & wife Heba of Stamford and Olivia Grecco of Trumbull. She had four great grandchildren Kyle & Shawn Urbano, Masen Bardelli and Gerard Grecco III.

Margaret was a supervisor at Mechtronics Corp. from which she retired and then took care of her family. She was an avid fan of the New York Yankees, loved to play Bingo and watch her game shows. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church
Margaret, better known as “Maggie” to family and friends was truly a very giving and kind person. She had a perpetual smile that warmed your heart! You were always welcomed at Maggie’s house, where her generosity and great tasting meals were present. She never forgot your name nor went without asking how you and your family were doing. She was a great woman and will be surely missed!
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, January 7 at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church 37 Schuyler Ave., Stamford. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery, 124 Rockrimmon Rd., Stamford. Relatives and friends may call at Lacerenza Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford, on Wednesday, January 6 from 3 to 7 p.m.
