In Memoriam: Mary R. Sachuk

Mary R. Sachuk, a longtime Stamford resident, peacefully passed away at her home in Southbury, on Monday, December 14, 2015.

She was born August 8, 1918 in Sayreville, NJ and was one of nine children born to the late Joseph and Helena (Hagatha) Ruszaj.

Mary was a retired machinist who had worked for Pitney Bowes for 37 years. She was a communicant and faithful parishioner of Holy Name of Jesus Church in Stamford and was an active member of the Holy Name Rosary Society and Senior Society.

Mrs. Sachuk is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Donna Yeruc of Sandy Hook, CT; and a brother Wacek Ruszaj, of Poland.

She is preceded in death by her first husband, Walter Yeruc, who was killed in action in 1944 during WWII, and her beloved husband of 51 years, Maxie Sachuk. She is also preceded in death by her brothers, Joseph, John, Walter and George Ruszaj; and sisters, Cecilia Pawelak, Veronica Gadzenski and Stasia Jarosinski.

The family will receive the sympathy of friends and family on Monday, December 21, 2015 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Bosak Funeral Home, 453 Shippan Ave., Stamford. A prayer service will be held during visitation at approximately 5:30 p.m. At the family’s request the interment will be private.
