In Memoriam: Stacey E. Hoyt Jr.

The Stamford resident passed away Jan. 27 at the age of 79.

Stacey E. Hoyt Jr. of Stamford passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at St. Camillus Health Care Center.

He was born in Stamford on March 9, 1936 to the late Stacey E. Hoyt Sr. and Julia Avery Hoyt.

Stacey was employed with the City of Stamford in the Operations Department for thirty years before his retirement. During that time, he was also a Free Mason and Shriner in Stamford, a member of the Shriners Club of Stratford, a member of the Elks Club in Stamford and also very active as a Boy Scout Leader with Troop #6.

He was also a veteran, having served in the U.S. Navy.

He is survived by his loving wife Ilene Witkowski Hoyt of 55 years of Stamford, his loving sons Darryl Hoyt of Stamford, Douglas Hoyt and his wife Lisa M. of Stamford, Allan Hoyt and his wife Cheryl of Monroe, two brothers Charlie Hoyt and his wife Marge of Westport, Walter Hoyt and his wife Eileen of Stamford, a sister Judy Pavlowski and her husband Frank of Norwalk, as well as seven grandchildren Joey, Jacquelyn, Danielle, Jessie, Kristen, Amanda , Lauren and three great-grandchildren Kody, Amberlee and Emma Rose.

A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, February 2, at 10 AM at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Ave., Stamford. Interment will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery, Darien. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday, February 1, from 4 to 8 PM.

Donations may be made in Stacey’s memory to the Shriners Childrens Hospital, 516 Carew Street, Springfield, MA 01104.
