NAACP Stamford Branch Presents 'Love Shouldn't Hurt'

Dr. Rose Parker will be heading a seminar called, Love Shouldn't Hurt on Saturday, March 26 in the UCONN Stamford Branch Auditorium.

A California Woman, who has endured 30+ years’ battles of mistreatment, abuses, and injustices, celebrates her Gubernatorial Pardon. Rose Parker, who was convicted to a 27 to life prison sentence for killing her abuser, as he beat and held her hostage pregnant with her 19 month old son standing by her side in March 1986, nearly 30 years ago to the date.

Former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger granted Rose Parker a Conditional PARDON after she fought for 25 years (even going to the Capitol to rally.) On his last day in office, the former CA Governor was moved to grant Rose Parker an Executive Gubernatorial Pardon, considering the facts of the case... (He just failed to see the pardon was based on innocence and the circumstances of the case.) The Pardon for Rose Parker was made conditional.

Dr. Rose Parker will be heading a seminar called, Love Shouldn’t Hurt “Struck Down but Not Destroyed, Saturday, March 26, 2016, UCONN Stamford Branch Auditorium. The time: 10:00am – 2:00pm Free Admission - All Are Welcome.

“There is so much I want to say” said Parker, who was 26 years old at the time, “and I am truly happy and grateful, but it was just, really difficult being put in that situation, with everything and not knowing if someone was going to set you up, just because you were getting a pardon. I was perplexed, because I don’t even get in those types of situations, as a counselor and minister, I actually help people in court and life’s challenges, so with that, I just decided to not mention my conditions for the pardon.”
