STAMFORD, CT — A little bit of nostalgia has opened up at the Stamford Town Center in the form of Nathan's Famous and Arthur Treacher's Fish & Chips.

Nathan's officially opened in the mall's food court this week, according to mall general manager, Dan Stolzenbach.

Known for its hot dogs and crinkle cut fries - with the red fry fork, of course - Nathan's also carries a menu from Arthur Treacher's, which features fish & chips, popcorn shrimp, fish sandwiches and hush puppies, among other fried seafood items.

"We couldn’t be happier to welcome Nathan’s Famous to Stamford Town Center. Their iconic hot dogs and classic American fare bring both nostalgia and quality to our food court. We think our customers will be thrilled, and we’re excited to see the positive response," Stolzenbach said in a written statement to Patch this week.

There are Nathan's locations in Trumbull, Southington and Stonington, the Nathan's website notes.

Arthur Treacher's was founded in 1969 in Columbus, OH, and named after the English actor of the same name, who starred in films throughout the 1930s, 40s, 50s and 60s.

The fish & chips chain once had over 800 locations nationwide, including outposts in Connecticut, but there are currently just three standalone storefronts left in Ohio.

In 2006, Nathan's acquired the trademarks and intellectual property associated with the Arthur Treacher's brand. In 2021, Nathan's relaunched Arthur Treacher's as a virtual brand and ghost kitchen concept, Restaurant Business Magazine reported.

The Nathan's Famous location at the Trumbull Mall also features the Arthur Treacher's menu.
