Norwalk Man Arrested After Fight with Ex-Girlfriend

Police reports for Feb 5-7. Information is supplied by the Stamford Police Department. It does not indicate convictions.

Just after 9 p.m. on Saturday night, officers responded to a 911 call placed by a Stamford woman who claimed that she was assaulted by her ex-boyfriend.

According to the victim, she asked Guido Constant, 42, of 4 Dixie Lane, Norwalk, to drive her home from work. The two, who dated for six years, but remained friends, had plans to go to the movies, but the victim told Constant that she had changed her mind because she wasn't feeling well. While in the car, the conversation turned to the victim's relationship with her new boyfriend, which agitated Constant and the two began to argue.

As they pulled into the parking lot in front of her home, Constant told the victim that he was going to go to her boyfriend's house and beat him up. When she attempted to exit the vehicle, Constant grabbed her by the neck and squeezed for a short period of time. The victim tried to grab her cell phone, but Constant knocked it away. She then tried to grab Constant's cell phone, but he knocked that away as well. The victim eventually managed to exit the car.

According to police, Constant threw the victim's cell phone out of the car and then proceeded to drive his car at a high speed straight towards her. He stopped right before hitting her and then left the residence. The victim called 911 and Stamford police officers arrived to interview her. The victim told the officers that Constant worked at an Exxon gas station on Putnam Avenue in Greenwich and that he was scheduled to work that night.

The officers called Greenwich Police, who arrived at the gas station to question Constant. He told officers that his name was "Chris Smith," but when they received a description from Stamford police of what the suspect was wearing, Constant revealed his true identity.
