STAMFORD, CT — The northbound lanes between exits 4 and 5 on I-95 in Stamford reopened Wednesday afternoon after being closed for several hours following a crash between a motor vehicle and a pedestrian.

CT State Police said serious injuries were reported. Further information was not available Wednesday.

The closures were first reported around 6:30 a.m., and traffic was diverted off exit 5.

There were residual delays in Greenwich between exits 2 and 5 northbound as of 1:30 p.m., according to the CT Department of Transportation.

A pedestrian was struck by a motor vehicle on I-95 in Stamford Wednesday morning, causing lane closures during the morning commute.

The northbound lanes between exits 4 and 5 are closed, according to traffic information from the CT Department of Transportation. The closures were first reported shortly after 6:30 a.m.

Connecticut State Police told Patch serious injuries were reported, and investigators are at the scene. Traffic is being diverted off exit 5.

"We ask that anyone traveling in the area seek alternate routes," CT state police said, noting the scene is active and information is limited at this time.
