Three childhood friends put $900 together to open a small hot chicken stand with portable fryers and folding tables in a parking lot, and the offerings caught on in popularity.

"But thanks to Instagram, people came. And tasted. And came back with their friends. Then, the buzz brought a reporter from EATER/LA. He took a bite of his first Dave’s Hot Chicken tender, and our world changed. The next day he posted, 'East Hollywood’s New Late Night Hot Chicken Stand Might Blow Your Mind,'" Dave's Hot Chicken says on its website.

The Stamford location is open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., Sunday through Thursday, and until 12 a.m. on Friday and Saturday. Online ordering is available on the Dave's Hot Chicken website.
