Veloz’s “Quick Pick” ticket matched the first five winning numbers drawn, but missed the Powerball number. Of the 350,629 prize-winning Powerball tickets sold for that date, three contained a 5 number match for the $1,000,000 prize.
“That’s fantastic news,” said Glen Scali upon learning that his store, Grocery Express, located at 1429 E. Putnam St. in Old Greenwich, had sold the $1 million prize winning ticket. “We’re very happy that one of our customers was lucky enough to win a million dollars. It’s great to see,” Scali told the Connecticut Lottery.
