Principal of Stamford's New School to be Appointed
The school board is expected to name a veteran Stamford educator as the New School's principal next week.

Stamford, CT— Interim Superintendent Stamford Public Schools (SPS) James A. Connelly and the Stamford Board of Education are expected to name Frank Rodriguez as principal of the district’s new interdistrict K-8 magnet school.
The appointment is to be announced on Tuesday, March 22, at the monthly Board of Education meeting. The New School at 200 Strawberry Hill Ave. is scheduled to open in August with 240 kindergarten and first grade students.
“I am very pleased with the selection of Frank as the leader of the district’s new school,” Connelly said in a statement. “Frank has deep roots in Stamford, a track record of success in all of his assignments here, and brings the knowledge and experience needed to get our new school off to a strong start.”

Rodriguez has worked in the Stamford Public Schools for 13 years and is a graduate of Rippowam High School. He has been principal of K.T. Murphy Elementary School since 2011. Rodriguez also was assigned as assistant principal at K.T. Murphy and at Westhill High School. He also served as an administrative intern at Westhill and teacher at K.T. Murphy. Before beginning his career in education, Rodriguez worked as an investment management consultant and analyst.
Rodriguez holds a B.S. in Finance and an M.S. in Elementary Education from Sacred Heart University. He also earned a 6th year degree in Special Education & TESOL, from Fairfield University.
