Renewable Resources Brings Alternative Energy to Stamford
Renewable Energy has just moved into an office on Research Drive and is ready to start providing alternative energy—and several new jobs—to the residents of Stamford.

Coming soon to a rooftop near you, a brand new solar installation providing alternative energy to a residential or commercial building in your neighborhood. At least, that's what Renewable Resources is hoping.
New to Stamford—and the country—the Scotland-born business has high hopes for Connecticut and the surrounding states for acceptance and adoption of solar services.
From conception to completion, the company will be handling all things solar, from design and implementation to installation.

"We're currently focusing on the Northeast, it's a great market for solar energy," said President Peter Chaitkin. "Solar panels are a beautiful thing. There're no moving parts, and yet you're converting sunlight to energy."
Already in town for a few months, the office became operational May 16, 2012, and will be completing its first installation near the middle to end of June.

The company currently has five local employees, but Chaitkin explained they would be expanding to at least 20 this year, with the possibility of finding room for 50 positions if the company gets off to a good start.
"Four years ago, this company started in a garage in Scotland," Chaitkin said. "I started in the roofing business 10 years ago. We're going to have the best solar energy technicians and the best roofing technicians learning and working together. We have a passion for solar energy and for doing it right."
The company will be using suppliers from the U.S. to provide its wares, but Chaitkin touts the parent company's huge contracts and experiences growing in the UK.
"We're going to be getting the best quality products at very competitive prices," he said. "The company has strong buying power because of projects like providing services for 115 stores for one supermarket chain in the UK."
