The RFP outlines the board’s goal of selecting a firm that can lead "a comprehensive, transparent, and inclusive search" while attracting a diverse pool of candidates. The new superintendent will be expected to advance academic excellence, equity and long-term student success, according to the document.
"This is an important milestone in our superintendent search process," said ad hoc committee chairperson Versha Munshi-South in an announcement. "The committee looks forward to reviewing proposals and interviewing prospective search firms to identify the right partner to guide the Board through this critical work."

Committee members include Jennienne Burke, Joshua Esses, Julienne Foy, Rebecca Hamman, Duane E. Hill, Eileen Swerdlick and Edith Targonski. Hyman serves as an ex-officio member.
Munshi-South and other committee members are scheduled to provide an update on the process at the board's Sept. 30 meeting.
