The Stamford Downtown Parade Spectacular Is This Weekend: Here's What To Know

The parade is scheduled to begin at noon on Nov. 24 at the intersection of Summer Street and Hoyt Street. Here's what to know.

STAMFORD, CT — It's once again time for the Stamford Downtown Parade Spectacular.

Scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 24, the event is one of the largest of its kind in the country, with more than 100,000 spectators annually. The parade is produced by Stamford Downtown Special Services District.

The parade is scheduled to begin at noon at the intersection of Summer Street and Hoyt Street and conclude on Atlantic Street, just a few short blocks from the Stamford Metro-North Railroad Station.

Planned highlights of the parade include The Greatest Showman on Earth, Daredevil, Comedian, Legend, Bello Nock, and 15 giant balloons such as favorites Daniel Tiger, Elmo, Kung Fu Panda, Mr. Potato Head, Oscar the Grouch, Rudolph, Scooby-Doo, Shrek, The Very Hungry Caterpillar and more.

There will also be various floats, dance groups and marching bands.

Additionally, one of the many floats in the parade will feature Stamford Public Schools Teacher of the Year Carolyn Tschinkel, a kindergarten teacher at Stillmeadow Elementary School.

On the eve of the parade, a balloon inflation party will be hosted by Point72.

Scheduled for Nov. 23 from 3-6 p.m. at the intersection of Hoyt Street and Summer Street in Stamford Downtown, the party allow spectators an up-close-and-personal look at the balloons as they take to the sky in preparation for their flights above the streets of Stamford.

The party will offer music, clowns and cartoon characters, and a meet and greet with Santa and Mrs. Claus.

Spectators will be treated to a special performance by Bello Nock, who will provide thrilling tricks that he has planned for Sunday’s main event.
