Rush & Shored Up, Brighton Gardens, Life in the Universe, Ferguson Library

It looks like the weather for the week in Stamford kicks off in the high 60s and steadily rises to the mid-70s by next weekend. Rain currently doesn't look likely. You can check the high and low tide schedules using these tide charts.

Join the Avon Theater at 272 Bedford Street on Monday, September 23, at 7:30 p.m. for a free, Members-only screening of RUSH, the new Ron Howard/Peter Morgan film which centers on Chris Hemsworth as the charismatic Englishman James Hunt and Daniel Brühl as the disciplined Austrian perfectionist Niki Lauda, who clash on the Grand Prix racetrack. On Tuesday at 7:30 p.m., check out a showing of SHORED UP, a documentary on coastal towns, hosted at the theater by the League of Women Voters of Greenwich, Darien, and Westchester.

Check out the grand re-opening of Brighton Gardens at 59 Roxbury Road on Thursday at 5 p.m. Check here for RSVP details

Head to the observatory at the Stamford Museum & Nature Center Friday for Astronomy Nights: Life in the Universe. Start by enjoying a presentation on life in the universe, followed by a visit to view the night sky through the Observatory's 22-inch research telescope.
