Stamford Bartender Comes to Aid of Domestic Violence Victim: Report
The bartender reportedly called police after seeing the victim's injuries and her asking for help.

A Stamford bartender is being credited with helping a woman who reportedly was a victim of domestic violence at the hands of her boyfriend.
Shortly after 11 p.m. Wednesday a woman tending bar at the Fortina restaurant on Washington Boulevard took action when she saw a female patron say ‘please help me’ when the man she was with turned his back, according to The Advocate.
The bartender saw the woman was had facial injuries and called 911, according to the report. The woman told police that her boyfriend had awakened her about 3 a.m. that day and began to kicking her, causing the injuries.

Police found the man, identified as Louis Coustantineau, 43, of Stamford, at a hotel and arrested him on assault and breach of peace charges, and brought the woman to a safe house, according to the newspaper.
A judge, citing Coustantineau’s arrests in Rhode Island and in Hartford for previous domestic violence incidents, set his bond at $20,000 cash, according to The Advocate report that can be found here.

According to the Connecticut Judicial Branch website, Coustantineau remains in custody and is scheduled to return to court Dec. 15.
