Stamford Company Makes Fortune 100 List Of Best Companies To Work For

STAMFORD, CT — Synchrony, a premier consumer financial services company based in Stamford, is among the best companies to work for in the United States for 2025, according to a new list released by Fortune and Great Place To Work.

The company was ranked No 2. behind Hilton on the list. Cisco was ranked third, American Express fourth, and NVIDIA rounded out the top five. Synchrony is the only Connecticut company to make the list.

In 2024, Synchrony came in at No. 5.

Fortune’s list is based on a Great Place to Work survey that measures how employees feel about where they work, as well as the key behaviors that drive trust in management, connection with colleagues and loyalty to the company.

The list was compiled after gathering and analyzing more than 1.3 million confidential survey responses representing the experiences of more than 8.4 million U.S. employees.

"In the more than 30 years we’ve studied the workplace, our data proves that how you treat people shows up in your financial performance," said Great Place to Work CEO Michael C. Bush. "When you measure trust, you uncover the potential that exists in an organization. Employees at companies on this list have higher levels of trust in their leaders and in their organization, unlocking their creativity, passion and resilience."

In the most recent Great Place to Work U.S. employee survey, 94 percent of Synchrony employees say that Synchrony is a great place to work (compared to 57 percent at a typical U.S. company).

Synchrony noted that 93 percent say that the company’s way of working gives them the flexibility they need; and 92 percent say their manager provides constructive feedback to deliver on performance expectations.

Synchrony said it offers hybrid work and flexibility, manager-employee coaching and leadership training, career development and skills training, and robust well-being benefits.
