"During the Snap, the student threatened to "shoot up the school," police said in a news release.

STAMFORD, CT — A Stamford High School student is accused of making a threat against the school via Snapchat, police said.

At 2 p.m. Friday, the Stamford Police Department Dispatch Center received information from the FBI that a shooting threat was made via Snapchat, police said. Snapchat is a social media app that allows users to share photos and videos, known as snaps, with friends.

After an extensive investigation, agents were able to determine the whereabouts of the phone. Agents also determined that the phone was in the confines of Stamford High School. With this information, Detectives were able to identify the student and her location. A short time thereafter, the School Resource Officer and officers from the patrol division located the student and affected the arrest. A weapon was not recovered within the school."
