Stamford Hospital Earns High Safety Grades From National Nonprofit
A national nonprofit group has released its hospital safety grades. See how Stamford Hospital stacks up.
STAMFORD, CT — Stamford Hospital last week announced it received an "A" Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group for fall 2025 – the organization’s fifth consecutive A rating.
Out of 28 Connecticut hospitals to receive ratings from Leapfrog this reporting period, Stamford Hospital was one of four hospitals in Fairfield County and one of 14 in the state to receive an A.

“Achieving such high-quality outcomes requires unwavering commitment, continuous improvement, and a culture that prioritizes the well-being of every individual,” Dr. Rohit Bhalla, senior vice president and chief clinical and quality officer at Stamford Health, said in a prepared statement. “Thank you to our compassionate caregivers for their steadfast dedication to our patients’ safety.”
Leapfrog assigns an “A,” “B,” “C,” “D” or “F” grade to general hospitals across the country based on over 20 performance measures reflecting rates of complications, adverse events, and infections, as well as the systems hospitals have in place to prevent them.

“Each year, patient safety and quality are at the top of our priority list, and this achievement reinforces that,” added Kathleen Silard, President and CEO, in a prepared statement. “I am very grateful for the emphasis our teams place on person-centered care and high-quality outcomes.”

The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is fully transparent and free to the public.
