Stamford Lawyer Named American Bar Foundation Fellow
Bar foundation fellows are elected by their peers for their leadership, community service.

Partner and Chair of the Litigation Department of the Stamford firm Murtha Cullina LLP, David P. Friedman, has been named a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation.
The Fellows of the American Bar Foundation is an honorary organization of lawyers, judges and legal scholars who have been elected by their peers. To become a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation one must demonstrate leadership in the legal profession, service to society and commitment to the ideals and objectives of the American Bar Foundation.
“David embodies the highest principles of the legal profession, and he is very deserving of this honor,” Jennifer Morgan DelMonico, Managing Partner of Murtha Cullina, said in a statement. “Not only has he demonstrated a remarkable dedication to the law throughout his career, he is an extraordinary leader in our Firm, in the Bar, and in the community.”

Friedman represents a diverse variety of corporate and individual clients in complex commercial and other civil litigation matters. He has conducted numerous arbitrations and mediations and has litigated cases in state and federal courts in Connecticut and New York at both the trial and appellate levels.
Friedman is Vice President and former Treasurer of the Board of Directors of Statewide Legal Services of Connecticut, a current member of the Connecticut Bar Association’s House of Delegates, a James W. Cooper Fellow with the Connecticut Bar Foundation, a former attorney trial referee in the Connecticut Superior Court and a current member of the Board of Trustees of the Long Ridge School in Stamford. He received his J.D. from New York University School of Law and his Bachelor of Arts degree from Stanford University.
