Stamford Man is Accused of Choking Co-Worker
Police say an ongoing dislike between the men became physical.

A 57-year-old Stamford man was arrested this week after he was accused of choking a co-worker in a Greenwich office building.
“It was an argument between co-workers…an ongoing dislike towards one another and it took a turn for the worse and became physical,” said Greenwich Police spokesman Lt. Kraig Gray.
The victim told police that he was choked by the suspect in a bathroom of an office building at 100 W. Putnam Ave., shortly before 9 a.m. Jan. 5, according to a police report.

The victim had “injuries consistent with being choked,” according to the report. And the suspect, who denied there was a physical altercation, “displayed fresh wounds to his right arm consistent with someone attempted to remove themselves from his grip,” according to the report.
The suspect, identified as Leoncio Garcia, of Stillwater Avenue, Stamford, was charged with third-degree assault, disorderly conduct and second-degree strangulation, a felony, according to police.
