Stamford Mayor Pavia Honors 'Community Heroes of Connecticut'
The following is a press release from Stamford Mayor Michael Pavia's Office.

Mayor Michael A. Pavia was proud to attend the American RedCross “Community Heroes of Connecticut” Breakfast Friday at the Trumbull Marriot. Many of Connecticut’s Heroes were honored and a number of of the honorees were from Stamford.
Stamford’s awardees are as follows:
Mayor Pavia’s nominee George Ducanic received the “Community Impact Award” for his selfless commitment to our community.
“Firefighter/ Law Enforcement Award” winners Stamford Firefighter Joseph Maida and Stamford Firefighter William O’Connell who were bestowed this honor for their heroic capsized boat rescueof two people.
“Good Samaritan Youth Award” winners Rashidah Dorvil and Jonathan Dorvil were presented this award because their quick response saved their baby brother’s life.
“Good Samaritan Youth Award” winner Darby Hogan was also honored because her swift reaction saved a young man with CPR.
