Stamford Organization Recognized As 'Top Workplace' In Southern CT

The organization was one of 53 employers to earn recognition as a top workplace.

STAMFORD, CT — Charter Oak Communities (COC) has been recognized as a Southern Connecticut Top Workplace by Hearst Media Services for the fourth year in a row.

COC is a major provider of high quality, affordable homes for thousands of low and moderate-income Stamford families and market-rate residents. It was one of 53 employers to earn recognition as a top workplace and the only housing authority in the region to earn this distinction.

COC was recognized in the small business category, which includes organizations with 35-149 employees. According to Jan Tantimonico, COC’s Chief Talent Officer, this award is especially meaningful because it is based on employee feedback.

"We have amazing employees, who are very dedicated to our residents and to one another,” said Tantimonico in a news release. "This spirit of collaboration is an important part of our corporate culture, one that is built on employee satisfaction, meaningful engagement and achieving a satisfactory work-life balance. This not only makes us a great place to work, but is key to our success as an organization that serves the community as well."

To qualify for this award, employers must have at least 35 workers in the region with a certain percentage of those employees responding to the survey. The aggregated employees feedback score must exceed national benchmarks. These benchmarks are determined by Energage, a company that has surveyed about 30 million employees over the last 19 years.
