Stamford Police K-9 Attacked in Park

The attack occurred at Fort Stamford Park.

STAMFORD, CT - Stamford’s bomb-sniffing K-9 reportedly was injured in dog fight at Fort Stamford Park on Friday afternoon.

Two-year-old Pogo, a white Labrador, was attacked by a German shepherd that had broken free from its owner and attacked the police dog, according to The Advocate.

Pogo was with his handler Officer Jim Comstock who was working an extra duty job directing traffic on Westover Road Friday morning. The pair had taken a lunch break in the park when the attack occurred. Pogo,who graduated from a 14-week bomb detection course in June, was treated and released from a veterinary hospital.
