From the Stamford Public Education Foundation: Last weekend 4 teams, 8 coaches, 26 students, 40 family members traveled to Michigan State University for the Odyssey of the Mind World Finals.

Competition was extremely tough this year, but the Stamford teams made everyone proud.

  • Newfield finished 13th out of 72 teams
  • Westover finished 15th out of 43 teams
  • Mixed middle finished 21st out of 52 teams
  • Division III finished 19th out of 37 teams

There was a lot of pride and excitement around our youngest team, representing Newfield Elementary school. Out of 72 teams in their problem and division, Newfield placed 13th in the world! Overall they were the highest ranked elementary team from Connecticut, and the third highest ranking team out of all of Connecticut's teams. Our Newfield team beat out 59 international teams some of which undoubtedly had more experience and support (this is a first time team with first time coaches)! We are so excited and proud of all our teams, and were thrilled to represent Stamford Public Schools, the city of Stamford and the state of Connecticut so successfully and with so much energy.
