Stamford Woman Stabbed by Panhandler: Report

The woman was walking with her four-year-old child when she was approached by a man asking for money.

Stamford Police are searching for a panhandler who is suspected of stabbing a city woman who was walking with her four-year-old child on Myrtle Avenue near the I-95 overpass Saturday night.

The woman told police she was approached by a black male who asked her for money. She kept walking after telling him she didn’t have any money and then felt pain on the right side of her stomach, according to The Advocate.

The woman rushed to her nearby apartment where she saw blood on her clothes and called police, according to the report. The woman suffered a four-inch deep stab wound and was treated and released from Stamford Hospital.
