Streets Reopened After Emergency Infrastructure Repair Work In Stamford

Bedford Street, Spring Street and Forest Street reopened during the overnight hours into Friday.

The Stamford Police Department announced Thursday morning that Bedford Street, Spring Street and Forest Street are closed in the vicinity of the downtown area due to emergency infrastructure repair work.

"At this time, the duration of the closure remains undetermined. Our contractors and city partners are working diligently to address the issue and restore safe access as quickly as possible," police said.
It was not immediately clear what the infrastructure issues were.
Motorists are urged to avoid the area, seek alternate routes and allow for extra travel time.
"Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we work to resolve this matter safely and efficiently," police said.
