Suspect in Car Burglary Ring Charged with Stamford Thefts
The suspect is facing dozens of charges; Police also nab 2 teens for another holiday theft spree.

The Stamford Police Department has made several arrests and have several more arrest warrants pending for persons involved with breaking into unlocked vehicles and stealing credit cards, cash and merchandize from Stamford residents.
Police are crediting Officer Pompa of the Property Crimes division who worked for eight months to solve 15 thefts from vehicles that occurred from April through October. Pompa was able to identify two individuals in a car larceny crew that stole items from vehicles in Stamford and used credit cards in New Haven and Hartford counties, according to police.
Pompa discovered that credit cards that were taken from these thefts were being used in numerous stores throughout the state. He acquired video of the suspects in numerous stores and was able to identify and obtain arrest warrants for two of the suspects as Trevor Dixon, 28, of New Haven, and Dana Vincent, 39, whose last known address was in Windsor, police said.

Dixon who has been jailed for an unrelated charge was brought to Stamford Superior Court on Dec. 28 and served with the arrest warrant for a total of 89 burglary, larceny, credit card theft, illegal use of a credit card and conspiracy charges. Dixon is being held on a $100,000 bond and scheduled to return to court Jan. 8, according to Connecticut Judicial Branch website.
Vincent is still at large and is wanted for similar charges. She is actively being sought by the Stamford Police Department, police said.

In an unrelated investigation the Strawberry Hill Avenue - Hope Street area was hit hard with car larcenies on Christmas Eve, police said.
It was about 12:30 a.m. Christmas Day when Officer Dogali observed two young black males trespassing and acting suspiciously behind a home on Schuyler Avenue, police said. When he confronted them they both attempted to walk off. He quickly detained them and determined that they didn’t live at that residence and they were arrested on a trespass charge.
During a search of the 15-year-olds, police found the proceeds from several car break-ins in the neighborhood. One of the juveniles who possessed the fruits of the crime was charged with third-degree burglary and sixth-degree larceny. The teen also was charged with Interfering with Police and Tampering with Evidence as he attempted to steal the money back from the officers as they were seizing the money that was stolen.
Police said that investigation is continuing.
