VIDEO: ID of Gun-Toting Robber Sought by Stamford PD

The man emptied the cash drawer of a Shippan sandwich shop.

Stamford Police have released a security video in hopes that the public will help them identify the gunman who robbed the Subway sandwich shop on Shippan Avenue Wednesday night.

It was about 10:10 p.m. Jan. 14 when a short white male entered the shop at 417 Shippan Ave. Police say the man “pretended to make a purchase” before pulling out a black handgun and demanding money from the store clerk.

In the video, the gunman can be seen taking money from the drawer of the cash register and stuffing it into a black backpack. He then walked out of the store and fled on a bicycle, according to police.
