WWE Ends Broadcasting Agreement With Russia

Stamford-based WWE announced this week that its network will no longer be available in Russia, following the country's invasion of Ukraine.

STAMFORD, CT — World Wrestling Entertainment Inc. announced this week that it has ended its broadcasting partnership with Russia, and that the WWE Network is no longer available there.

The announcement comes a week after Russia invaded Ukraine.

"WWE has terminated its partnership with Russian broadcaster Match and shut down WWE Network in Russia effective immediately," WWE said in a statement Thursday. Match TV is a Russian federal sports channel owned by Gazprom Media

"The move eliminates access in Russia to any WWE programming, including the company’s weekly Raw, SmackDown and NXT shows, its on-demand library, and all of its premium live events, including WrestleMania 38."

Wrestlemania is WWE's marquee live event, and will take place on two nights this year — April 2 and April 3 from AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas.

Along with premium live events, WWE Network has a massive video-on-demand library. The network is available in more than 180 countries, according to the company.
