20 Students Get Into Fight at Waterford High School: Police

Carloads of Stonington High School students allegedly showed up at Waterford High twice and a fight broke out, police said.

An investigation into an alleged fight at Waterford High School is ongoing and police expect arrests to be made.

According to the Waterford Police Department, the Emergency Communications Center received a phone call at 3:52 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 25, reporting several carloads of Stonington High School students in the Waterford High School parking lot.

“The reporting party said that the Stonington High School students were trying to fight students from Waterford High School,” police said. “A WHS staff member told the SHS students to leave and they did.”

Eight minutes later, another staff member called police and said approximately 20 students were fighting at the Miner Lane entrance to the school, Waterford Police said.

“As police arrived in the area, the fight ended and the individuals involved dispersed,” police said. “A short distance away a vehicle was stopped by a Waterford Police officer and it was determined the individuals in the vehicle were involved. Numerous identifications of parties involved have been made, and the investigation is ongoing, with arrests expected.”
