Bank Square Books Is NOT Closing

Rumors that the store is closing are FALSE, the owners say.

Reported and written by Ellyn Santiago.

To steal a bit from Mark Twain – and how apropos that he’s a treasured American author – reports of the alleged death of Bank Square Books is not only greatly exaggerated but also flat out wrong, according to the owner of the independent book store in downtown Mystic.

We just spoke with owner Annie Philbrick and the rumors out there are just that – rumors, she said. Philbrick took to Facebook today to squash those rumors. And she said she has no idea where the story originated but is patently false.

But to show how much you love them, swing buy and buy a book or two or three from our “locally owned, fiercely independent bookstore.”

Visit Bank Square Books at 53 W. Main Street, Mystic Monday - Thursday 10 - 6; Friday & Saturday 10 - 8; Sunday 10 – 5. Give a call at (860) 536 - 3795 or check out their website.
