Connecticut's Gun Law: 'People Are Still Gonna Be Crazy'

In the wake of Gov. Dannel Malloy signing one of the nation’s toughest series of gun laws Thursday, we asked Patch readers if they felt safer. We saw some strong opinions voiced on our Facebook page and wanted to share them here. What do you think?

Haley Thibdeau people are still gonna be crazy so it won't matter what the laws are.....

Michael O'Connell Makes no difference at all.

Phil Morris Not at all. Haley is spot on. Not to mention, criminals do not pay attention to any laws, the black market for said banned weapons etc will be the ones who profit with this knee jerk reaction to a horrible tragedy.

Beth Ribe It's better than doing absolutely nothing at all which is the way govt trends.

Sizer Lisa No, not at all. Just makes people mad!

Cary Foy What I find interesting is rather than go solely after guns they are going after Ammunition... Kind of like saying you DO have the right to Bear Arms... But ammo is a privilege... one that we can take away...

Peter Santos Yes I believe it does! Something had to be done after all these tragedies. Is it the perfect solution... No, but it's a start.

Pat Hambly Are you kidding me?? The Democrats could care less about the victims. But getting this rammed down our throats is like Christmas come early for them. And yet these same jackasses will be out waving the flag on the 4th of July, after knifing the the very ideas our Founding Fathers and countless other died for in the back. I wouldn't walk across the street to urinate on them if their heads were on fire...

Chris Spelman It will not even come close to solving the problem. It's not a gun
problem, it's a societal problem.
