Daily Five: Chance of Showers on Easter

1. The forecast for today and through the Easter weekend, from the National Weather Service:

• Today: Mostly sunny, with a high near 51. Light north wind becoming west 5 to 10 mph in the morning.
• Tonight: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 32. Northwest wind 5 to 7 mph.
• Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 48. Northwest wind around 9 mph.
• Saturday Night: Clear, with a low around 33.
• Sunday: A chance of showers after 3pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 49. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
• Sunday Night: Showers likely. Cloudy, with a low around 40. Chance of precipitation is 60%.

2. Police have arrested the second suspect in the January home burglaries in Pawcatuck. Emmanuel Fonseca, 20, of 98 W. Broad St., Pawcatuck, was charged on March 25 with two counts of second-degree larceny, second-degree criminal mischief, first-degree burglary, fourth-degree larceny and two counts of third-degree burglary. The Day is reporting that Fonseca was extradited from Rhode Island, where he was incarcerated, to Connecticut to be arraigned in connection with the burglaries. This is the second arrest in the case.

3. After our question earlier this week about why some drivers in town have trouble counting to three at the Route 1 bridge reconstruction spots, a Patch user asked when the project was due to be finished. We asked state Sen. Andrew Maynard, and his office let us know that the project is "on schedule to re-open the bridges to two lanes of traffic before Memorial Day as was originally publicized. The contractor was delayed by the blizzard.  But they say that they are still capable to meet the original date."

4. Brandy still needs a home! This sweet girl is looking for her forever family. She is at the Animal Control facility on Greenhaven Road.
