Digger Depot, Native American Whalemen and Kidsploration

Some things you should know about on Tuesday, July 30.

1. Great weather forecast for today! They say we'll have a beautiful summer day with sunny skies and a high near 80. And tonight will be just as nice and dip down to a cool 61 degrees.

2.There are many high school students who will be needing community service opportunities when school starts up again.  If your non-profit organization is in need of assistance, check out www.ugive.org to find out how to get volunteers.  Registration is free.  This is a Win/Win opportunity.  

3. The Digger Depot at the Stonington Free Library closes Friday at 5 p.m. Be sure to stop by this week and spend your Digger Dollars!

4. The Stonington Historical Society and the La Grua Center has announced a new program Bound Home: Native American Whalemen. The event features Prof. Nancy Shoemaker on Native Americans and the New England whaling industry. 

5. The Mystic Aquarium continues it’s Kidsploration program with a second Kidsploration Concert on Wednesday, July 31 at 2:30 featuring Lucky Diaz and the Family Jam Band. With fun music geared for ages 2-7 this group has been recognized by People Magazine as the #1 Cool Kid Album of the Year in 2012 and hailed by USA Today and CBS as "the best children's band."
