Mystic Hotel Named One Of The 'Most Exciting Openings'

Condé​ Nast Traveler is praising the opening of a Mystic hotel, putting it on the list of the most anticipated in the country.

MYSTIC, CT — The Stanton House in Mystic has been named one of the most exciting hotel openings of the summer by Condé Nast Traveler.

Condé Nast that the downtown Mystic location "couldn't be more charming if it tried," calling it an "authentic New England coastal town at its best."

The new four-floor space is being opened at The Whaler's Inn.

"The Whaler’s Inn has been Mystic’s epicenter of hospitality for over 125 years, and its restaurant, The Shipwright’s Daughter, led by James Beard Award-winning chef David Standridge is a mainstay for both locals and tourists alike," Condé Nast wrote. "The addition of the Stanton House further fleshes out the Whaler’s Inn’s accommodation offerings, adding some higher-end new accommodations that honor the area’s architectural traditions but feel fit for modern travelers."

The new space will include the Riverview Penthouse on the top floor with "expansive wraparound balconies, stunning sunset views over the river, indoor-outdoor fireplaces, and meticulously curated spaces tailored to the discerning traveler," according to the Whaler's Inn website.

The second and third floors will house deluxe suites with two-bedroom layouts, ensuite living rooms, kitchenettes, and air jet tubs.

The first floor will house an event space that can accommodate up to 40 guests.

Other hotels that appeared on Condé Nast Traveler's list were in California, New York City, South Carolina, Wyoming, Washington, and Alaska.
