Olde Mistick Village Turns 40, Awarded October Business of the Month
Each month the Greater Mystic Chamber of Commerce gives special recognition to one business in town.

A press release from the Greater Mystic Chamber of Commerce
Each month, the Greater Mystic Chamber of Commerce highlights a member business deserving of special recognition. This month, we are especially thrilled to announce Olde Mistick Village, located 27 Coogan Boulevard in Mystic, as the October recipient of the Business of the Month award. In addition, the Greater Mystic Chamber of Commerce wished to acknowledge and congratulate owners Joyce Olson Resnikoff and Jerry Olson on Olde Mistick Village’s 40th anniversary.Â
Olde Mistick Village has become an integral part of the tourism industry in Southeastern Connecticut. With more than 60 stores in a unique, Colonial-inspired setting, Olde Mistick Village creates a truly distinct shopping experience for its patrons. Beloved by both residents and visitors alike, the village started 40 years ago with Joyce and Jerry leading the way.Â
Joyce explains that the village started small and began to grow each year. When Olde Mistick Village first opened, there were 45 stores. Jerry started the construction of the village, while Joyce coordinated all the leasing, marketing and financing. Since then, the number of storefronts has grown significantly and special events such as the Garlic Festival, car shows, and holiday activities have now become community staples. Open year-round, the village even offers extended hours during the holiday seasons for shoppers.Â
Throughout their 40 years of success, the Olson family prides themselves on the businesses that they have worked with and fostered. Many local businesses find great success in the village. Some businesses, like Steak Loft and R.A. Georgetti & Co, have been with the village since the very beginning.Â
“We gave entrepreneurs an opportunity to achieve their dreams,” says Joyce.Â
Such an organization that fosters fellow local business owners and has such value and success in Mystic for 40 years is undoubtedly deserving of recognition. We are proud to honor Joyce, Jerry and the entire team at Olde Mistick Village. Congratulations!Â
