Proof of Heaven, Music on the Green, Shakespeare in the Park
Five things to know today, on Tuesday, August 13.

- The National Weather Service says there’s a chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 1pm. And it’ll be cloudy, with a high near 75. There’s a chance for rain until 11 p.m. tonight and a low temp of 61.
- If you’re up for a little jaunt, acclaimed neurosurgeon and author Dr. Eben Alexander will lead a discussion on his book “Proof of Heaven” tonight in at the Watch Hill Chapel at 6:30 p.m. The evening promises a “thought-provoking dialogue about afterlife and science” which will be followed by a reception at the Ocean House. - Not today but next Sunday Donavon Frankenreiter is performing at the Jonathan Edward Winery. Frankenreiter’s music is described as “soft-bluesy” and “the laid back sounds and soulful crooning of this Hawaiian native are likened to his long time friend and collaborator Jack Johnson.”
- The free concerts on the green in Watch Hill continues tonight. Scott Gordley is tonight’s performer and he goes on at 6.
- This is the last week you’ll be able to catch a free performance “The Taming of the Shrew” by the Colonial Theatre. They’ve been doing Shakespeare in the park all summer in Westerly’s Wilcox Park. Shows start at 8 p.m.
