Seaport's Sea Music Festival Returns

One of the world’s “premier sea music events” is happening no place other than the Mystic Seaport and it’s all happening this weekend. As it happens, this is the 34th annual Sea Music Festival where performers and fans from around the world gather to carry on “the classical musical traditions of the Gold Age of Sail,” according the announcement on the Mystic Seaport’s website. 

The announcement says, “The weekend’s festivities include concerts, special performances for children, instructional workshops, and a unique opportunity to witness sea music at work aboard the Museum’s historic vessels. The festival also features the Music of the Sea Symposium, a two-day program that explores the interaction between sea, music, and song.”

The Seaport has posted this schedule of events, which includes daily performances, workshops and concerts. Visitors can attend concerts individually or buy passes, which includes the concerts, museum admission, daily performances and workshops. Festival passes can be purchased by calling the Visitor Reception Center at 860.572.0711, ext. 4210.
