MYSTIC, CT — Sunday night, a state police cruiser was involved in a crash that sent a trooper and another driver to the hospital, Stonington police said.

According to Stonington Deputy Chief Todd Olson, just after 9:30 p.m., a Connecticut State Police cruiser was involved in a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Route 27 and Coogan Boulevard in the Mystic section of Stonington.

Olson said a preliminary investigation found that the CSP trooper's vehicle exited Interstate 95 South at exit 90 and was traveling south on Route 27 when it collided with a vehicle at the intersection of Coogan Boulevard.
