Stonington High School Lockdown Due To Report Of Student With Gun

A report of a gun at the school led to an arrest, according to a report. The lockdown has since been downgraded.

STONINGTON, CT — Stonington High School was on lockdown Thursday morning. The town said the lockdown was downgraded as of 10:35 a.m. following a police all-clear sign.

The town posted: "The Stonington Police Department has given the all-clear, and the Lockdown protocol has been downgraded to a classroom HOLD. Everyone is safe and secure. More information will be shared as available."

The lockdown issue was ordered due to a report that a student had a gun, according to WFSB 3-TV.

Police arrived at the school and investigated. A student was taken into custody.

However, it was unclear if the student actually possessed a gun, WFSB 3-TV reported.
