Stonington Residents Accept Chamber's Exclusive Awards

Sherry Quinlan, of Stonington, accepted the Westerly-Pawcatuck Chamber of Commerce's exclusive Key Award, which is given in acknowledgement of significant volunteer efforts, according to a report in the Westerly Sun.

Quinlan logged in 150 hours of volunteer work following Hurricane Sandy. She helped in the "Bring Back the Beach" campaign, which raised $426,000 in seven months for Misquamicut business grants.

Pawcatuck resident Rob Valenti, Jr. accepted the Citizen of the Year award also. The Westerly Sun report says he was "selected for his hours of volunteer efforts on behalf of several area nonprofit organizations."
