This CT Restaurant Makes List Of Best Outdoor Dining Nationwide

STONINGTON, CT — Dog Watch Cafe in Stonington has made OpenTable's list of the "100 Most Popular Restaurants for Outdoor Dining in America."

The restaurant was among five New England establishments to get the nod. The other four are in Rhode Island.

OpenTable said the list of the best outdoor dining highlights "spots offering delicious food, beautiful views, and above all, incredible outdoor dining experiences."

"Outdoor dining is up 19% (year over year) for June (1 – 15), a strong start to the season," Susan Lee, chief growth officer of OpenTable said in a statement. "With many restaurants elevating outdoor dining spaces for summer and beyond, this list represents dining destinations with incredible outdoor – and culinary – offerings."

The list was compiled using diner reviews. Dog Watch Cafe receives a 4.5-star ranking on OpenTable. It's noted for its great scenic views and as a neighborhood gem.

The restaurant offers plenty of seafood options like calamari, littleneck clams, chowder, and oysters along with flatbread pizzas, truffled scallop risotto, and more.
