1 Pedestrian Dies After Hit-And-Run Crash, 1 Remains In Serious Condition: Stratford PD
A driver has been charged in connection with a hit-and-run crash that killed one pedestrian and seriously injured another, police said.
STRATFORD, CT — A driver has been charged in connection with a hit-and-run crash that killed one pedestrian and seriously injured another last Friday in Stratford, according to police.
Police responded around 1:05 a.m. on Jan. 9 to the 1400 block of South Avenue on the report of two pedestrians struck by a vehicle, according to Capt. Jerry Pinto.
Pinto said patrol officers rendered first aid to the two pedestrians until the fire department and EMS arrived at the scene.

The striking motor vehicle had left the scene, according to Pinto.
Pinto said the two pedestrians were taken to local hospitals and listed in serious condition.

One of the pedestrians, 35-year-old James Keno Davis of Brooklyn, New York, died from his injuries on Jan. 10, according to Pinto.
The other pedestrian remains in serious condition at the hospital, Pinto said on Wednesday morning.
The investigation into the crash led patrol officers to an address on Parrott Avenue in Bridgeport, where Pinto said they found a black Chevy truck with heavy front-end damage.
Kevin O’neill, 56, identified himself to patrol officers as the owner of the black Chevy truck and the driver at the time of the crash on South Avenue, according to Pinto.

O’neill was taken to the Stratford Police Department and charged with evading responsibility - serious physical injury and operation of an unregistered motor vehicle. He was released after posting a $1,000 bond with a court date of Jan. 23.
Pinto said the Chevy truck was towed to the Stratford Police Department for further investigative analysis.
